I apologize for the infrequency of my blogs as of late. I have been quite busy at work, and that's all I have really been doing.
Thursday was an interesting day, however. We interviewed two new people. The gentleman was dull and boring, the usual type of person in my field. The female was rather good looking, and I believe she was quite flirtatious. Since we were in a professional setting, and she was interviewing for being a coworker, she probably wasn't coming on half as strong as she normally would.
I am looking forward to seeing her at work, and outside of work as well. I wonder if I should have given her my number, since she was obviously interested. Well, no matter, either way, it looks like the lab may become more lively than it's been in a long time.

Something Strange
So, some rather odd occurances and I am not entirely sure how to interpret them.
I received several emails from several different people claiming to be Rachel yesterday. Oddly, after today's events, I am not sure Rachel didn't send at least some of them.
I had assumed that once I went to work, I would sort things out, however, that is where much of the confusion lies. Rachel and I rarely speak to each other about anything not related to our project or similar matters. So, it took a lot of courage for me to speak to her about emailing me. She didn't really respond much one way or the other about it, however. She really just blew me off.
I am beginning to wonder if maybe this is her way of playing coy with me. Sending me e-mails in regards to her "user name and password" is just her way of saying I should ask her out on a date. Even though she annoys the piss out of me, she isn't horrible looking, a diamond in the rough maybe.

Making Progress
First off, we have finally had some serious security measures put into place on the ProjectNet. About damned time I must say. However, the price of this is that I have been made responsible to help those people dumb enough not to know how a damned username and login works. Small price to pay I suppose.
Second off, there seems to be a direct correlation between the loudness of Rachel's whine and the success of our project. The closer we come to successes with this project, the more Rachel seems to bitch and throw tantrums, and I swear that I am nearly presentimental about her shrill whines, brace for them before they even happen.
I have officially decided to see how wearing earplugs covered by earmuffs may increase my focus, and therefore progress, and decrease my headaches all at once.

Dating
Okay, so, I decided that I would go out on my first date in quite some time. I must say it is the paramount worst experience I have ever had the displeasure to go through.
First of all, I should have known there would be trouble when she didn't wanna walk over to my apartment, then walk with me to a local cafe. She said something about living far away and needing a ride, but I wouldn't have it. Like I am going to spend the time in traffic and all the money on gas for what is likely to turn out to be a bad night already. Who the hell doesn't drive themselves places anyway?
Anyway, we decided to go to a movie, and that we would meet outside. And in a rare display of altruism on my part, I decided to buy the tickets, which were quite far from inexpensive. When she showed up, we were already late, and seeing as I consider the ticket price to include the previews, I considered this like paying for an appetizer you never receive.
At this point I am none too happy with my date. So I try and rush us into the theatre, and hopefully get us a good seat still, she begins to try and lag behind. When I asked her why she was slowing down, she said that she wants to get some snacks.
We are late, I bought the tickets, which we have already squandered a portion of the price of, and she wants some damned snacks? Well obviously, my reaction was "Sure, you can, I'll meet you inside. Grab me a popcorn if you will." And I continued to walk into the theatre. I found a great seat and sat down laying my jacket on the empty seat to my right.
She never came into the theatre. I am not entirely sure why she didn't show up, and I at first was quite worried that I never gave her ticket to her, however I remembered giving it to her, and I did not find evidence to the contrary.
This just proves that men should never drive women to their date, because if it goes horribly wrong, you have to endure each other all the way home.

An Unfortunate Consequence
Unforunately, spending long hours in the same small area with the same people for more than a year now has made me realize that though Rachel at least smells pleasant while she bitches at me, it seems Fincher has horrible halitosis.
On many occassions I have tested to make sure it was not my own breath that reeked, and after multiple scientific observations, I have concluded that it is indeed his breath and not my own.
While on the topic, if he who smelt it dealt it, then it must be I who stinks everytime Fincher uses the bathroom. I must say, everytime he leaves, it smells just like all he eats is beans, chili's and spices.

Another February
Hello everyone. I am starting to get all tense again at work. I'm not sure if my tolerance levels have decreased or Rachel's nagging levels have increased, but even Fincher seems to be able to sense the tension.
I am not terribly concerned about Rachel though, she is an extreme annoyance but as long as we continue to make more progress than we have in recent months, anything is tolerable.

Single Serving Friends
My friends from my few days of vacation called last night. It's funny how they really know very little about me and yet they act like they would like nothing better than to hang out with me.
I am not entirely understanding of it, I mean I blow them off 90% of the time, and maybe see them a few times a year, and yet the subsequent weeks after I hang out with them, the phone calls roll in until I get smart enough to stop answering altogether.
Oh well, people are weird I suppose. Anyway, I've been a lot better since I blew off some steam, even though things have not much improved at work, I can at least handle myself and my co-workers better.
