Hello all. It was another fantastic night tonight. I went out on a date tonight.
I want to start out by saying how utterly ridiculous it is to find a date in this city on Christmas Eve. I mean at least half of the people I spoke with were going to be busy at a church function, and the other half were going to some party, of which I was not invited to or allowed to show up at.
That being said, I did acquire a date for Christmas Eve. I am not entirely sure what went wrong, though. First of all, she was dressed in quite skimpy clothing, which was awfully ridiculous as it is winter time, and terribly cold out. And second of all, she had the nerve to scoff at my taking her to a small local coffee shop around the corner from me. She called me cheap, saying that she thought that since I was a scientist that I had a lot of money, and therefore would take her somewhere extravagent on Christmas Eve.
I am not sure how she can complain that I inconvenienced her because she cancelled plans to enjoy her Christmas Eve elsewhere, when I gave her no notion whatsoever that I would spend loads of money on someone I barely know, and whom I was only on a first date with, and someone whom I really only wanted to sleep with in the first place.
Let that be a lesson, even a PhD in Particle Physics, cannot get you willing partners on a holiday.
